How to Maintain Positive Reviews from Customers

A customer leaving a review is essentially an endorsement by them of your product or service, telling other potential customers about it and helping to spread the word. And they are worth their weight in gold!
A positive review can really help to boost your business’s credibility, and potentially convert more sales. So how do you go about maintaining these?
This is the simplest way to ensure that you have a positive review. You can email them after the sale and say “If you’re happy with our service/product, please leave us a review on your favorite site.” If they are happy with their purchase, they will be more likely to do this.
Always email customers who leave a positive review thanking them for their support. This shows that you value their feedback and appreciate them taking the time to leave it, which could make all the difference in maintaining their trust in your business.
You can also add in a request for their contact details so that you can keep in touch with them further down the line. This could be through email, Facebook or Twitter if they have linked these to their account.
By sending a thank you email, you are not only keeping your customers happy, but they will feel valued and more likely to return to your site in the future.
Again, you can use the email address that the customer has linked to their account or if they have left a Facebook or Twitter account, then reply there as well. You can add a message thanking them for their feedback and then let them know how you have dealt with it and what you have done to improve things in the future.
The good thing about this is that people will still see your review even if they don’t click through from Facebook or Twitter, so it’s a great way of building a relationship with your customers and ensuring that they know you care about them and their experience of buying from you.
You don’t want any of these reviews going missing or being mismanaged because people don’t know where to find them! A review management system allows you to easily view all reviews from customers over time, making it easy for anyone at any time to see how you are doing.
And by using the system, you can also see how many positive and negative reviews you have received so far, so that you can plan your marketing strategy around this.
It’s easy to forget that these are there, but they are always worth keeping! Make sure that you have a file of them somewhere so that they don’t get lost or forgotten about.
Many companies will give their customers points or other incentives for leaving a review on their site, but there is no reason why your business can’t do this too! You could even consider offering customers something like an Amazon voucher to make it even more special if they leave a good review on Amazon (if you sell through Amazon).
It could be something small, like £10 off the next order, or it could be more like £50 worth of vouchers or gift cards to other shops online or in-store, which would make them feel really valued as customers and will encourage them to leave more reviews in the future!
Just remember though, these don’t need to be expensive things – something as simple as giving out stickers for your logo, pens and post-it notes to customers who leave a review could be enough to really make them feel appreciated.
If you sell online, then having a place on your site where customers can leave reviews is essential for getting your products and services noticed by the potential customers who might be browsing through your site.
And of course, it’s also very good for keeping your customers happy and returning to shop with you again in the future!
You can even ask them for their email address so that you can keep in touch with them further down the line and send them special offers or new products as soon as they are available – again making sure that they feel valued as customers and that you care about their experience of buying from you.
