How We Use IFTTT to Automate a Lot of the Tasks Our Virtual Assistant Does

First published: July 3, 2021 @ 6:00 pm

As the needs and the use of virtual assistant technology have grown, so has the complexity of managing these virtual assistants. While the VA market is highly competitive, most businesses agree that having a solid VA solution is important.

A VA is basically an online service that helps with things like scheduling meetings and handling incoming calls.

They serve as an extension of existing human staff. As such, the most successful VA take care of a variety of tasks.

Why VA is Important

One thing that is often overlooked in VA’s is that they need to interact with people over the phone and via email. Often, they are asked to perform tasks that require these two forms of communication.

The reason for this is that the customer may want to go through an operator, or they may want to go through the VA themselves and communicate with them over email or phone.

Often, people don’t know what form of communication works best for them.

This results in problems where everyone has problems getting through (because it’s too slow or too fast) and no one really knows why.

The only way we can solve this problem is by ensuring that there are multiple methods of communication available at all times. This way, customers can choose whichever form of communication suits them best.

This is exactly what IFTTT (If This Then That) does. IFTTT is a web-based service that allows users to connect web services with other web services. It can automate tasks and perform actions in real time with no dedicated user interface.

This guide is a step-by-step guide to help businesses using IFTTT to automate tasks and create automated processes for their smart assistant. This will help save time and money for companies who want to get the most out of their virtual assistants. Let’s get started!

What is IFTTT?

IFTTT is a web-based service that allows users to connect web services with other web services. It is not limited to just two-way communication, it can also be used to automate tasks and perform actions in real time without the need for a dedicated user interface.

If you have ever tried connecting apps like Gmail, Google Drive, Facebook, Dropbox, Evernote or even Apple’s iCloud service with each other than you have used IFTTT. There are so many apps on the market today that allow you to automate things, but they all work differently from each other.

If you want something automated then there are plenty of automation software options available but if you want something done automatically with minimum human interaction then IFTTT is what you need.

With the integration of more than 200 services into one place and easy to use functionality, it has become an extremely popular choice for businesses that want to save time and money.

Benefits of Using IFTTT

If you are wondering what benefits you can get from using IFTTT then let me share some with you:

1) Automation

The most obvious benefit is that IFTTT makes automation simple. As mentioned above, if you want something automated then there are plenty of options available but if you want something done automatically with minimum human interaction then IFTTT is what you need.

It can be used to automate almost anything, including tasks that involve email or voice calls or any other form of communication which can be done over the phone or through email. This saves time and money for businesses who want to get the most out of their virtual assistants.

2) Integration

Another great benefit is that it allows users to integrate multiple services into one place. The integration of multiple services into one place makes it easy for businesses to automate tasks and perform actions in real time without the need for a dedicated user interface.

This means that companies can be able to make use of all the features of these different services at the same time without having to learn how to use each service individually. It also means that there is no need for many apps or an individual user interface.

3) Communication

If you are wondering what communication is then IFTTT allows users to communicate with other users over email, voice calls or any other form of communication which can be done over the phone or through email services.

This means that customers can communicate with their virtual assistant at any time, and they can do so on different days (or even on different hours. Imagine that you can communicate with your virtual assistant from 9:00am to 5:00pm but also from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, every day.

It would be much easier for businesses to have a team of virtual assistants as it is possible to communicate with them in real time without the need for an individual user interface.

4) Cost

This benefit is really important and will save companies a lot of money. As mentioned above, there are plenty of apps which are available which allow users to automate tasks and perform actions in real time.

However, this does require a lot of time and effort from the users as they need to learn how to use each service individually.

As mentioned above, IFTTT allows users to automate tasks and perform actions in real time which saves time and money for businesses who want to get the most out of their virtual assistants.

How We Use IFTTT to Automate a Lot of the Tasks Our Virtual Assistant Does

One of the tasks that our virtual assistant does is manage and organize our online business and social media sites. We have a Facebook page, a Twitter account, a LinkedIn account, an Instagram account and an Adwords account.

Adwords

Each of these accounts have different features, and they require different types of management so it makes sense to use over one service at the same time.

However, as mentioned above, it is not possible to use all these services in one place, so we need to automate some tasks which involve multiple services. The first service that we use is Adwords because it allows us to manage all our ad campaigns at once.

This makes it easy for us to view all our campaigns at once and see what ads are performing well or poorly through our software platform.

For example, Adwords allows users to create ad campaigns which will automatically adjust their advertising budget based on how many people click on their ads or how many people visit their website.

The great thing about this is that we can use IFTTT to automate this process. We can use IFTTT to connect our Adwords account with our Facebook page so that when someone clicks on one of our ads then the Facebook page gets notified about this and adjusts its advertising budget accordingly.

LinkedIn

Our next service that we use is LinkedIn. This is because we use LinkedIn to manage our social media accounts, and we also use it to manage our email accounts. For example, LinkedIn allows users to create lists which are groups of people who share the same interests.

Let’s say we have a list for professional social media managers, and we also have a list for technology-related content creators which allows us to communicate with each other and find new people who can help us with our online business.

If someone submits an article or creates a blog post on one of our websites then this will be posted on the LinkedIn pages of both me and my virtual assistant. We can then contact these people through LinkedIn’s messaging system or by email so that they can share their work with us.

LinkedIn also allows users to add new contacts into their contacts so that they can be able to easily send messages and emails to people who are not in their existing contacts list.
