The Different Levels of Virtual Assistants

First published: January 28, 2022 @ 6:00 am

The online world is getting more and more popular these days. We see it in the way we shop, pay our bills, travel, communicate and even in our day to day life. As technology advances, we are finding new ways to use it.

One of the newest is Virtual Assistants (VA). VA’s are becoming a common thing for those who have difficulty with their daily tasks or personal care.

Virtual Assistants are programs that will take over some of the tasks you need help with on a daily basis. Examples are shopping, answering emails and social media.

The popularity of VA’s is because there are many people who find difficulty in their daily tasks and find themselves unable to do them on their own. This can be, for example, due to the fact that they have difficulty multitasking and remembering everything at once.

These kinds of assistants can take over the heavy tasks that are difficult for you. For one, they can do things such as shopping or sending out invitations.

The possibilities of VA’s are endless. However, they can only do certain things that they have been programmed to do, so there will be some limitations on what they can do.

Lets talk about the different levels of VAs we can find in the current modern age.

There are 3 different levels of VA’s. These levels are what you will find with the most common ones that are available.

Level 1: Basic Assistants

Basic VAs are the most basic level of VAs. This assistant level consists of VAs that are programmed to take over some of the more routine tasks that a person would need help with in a few keystrokes.

For example, they can be programmed to answer emails, send out invitations and buy gifts for people. They will also do things like research for you, read out messages and remind you of appointments.

There are some basic VAs out there such as Siri, Cortana and Google Assistant. However, they don’t come close to the capabilities of advanced VAs. They are much less personalized and tailored to each specific user compared to advanced levels of virtual assistants.

Level 2: Personalized Assistants

This assistant level of artificial intelligence is one step further than the basic virtual assistant.

The enhanced assistants will have all the capabilities of the personal assistant but with some additional features. They are designed for individuals who have problems with daily tasks or have very specific needs in their daily lives.

They will be able to assist you in many ways. This includes reading your mail and making appointments and travel arrangements for you. They can also monitor security systems, run errands, and do many other helpful things.

This kind of assistant is capable of handling a lot more things that a basic VA would do. They can file out expense reports or income tax returns for you on your behalf without any issues at all.

You can make them perform more complex tasks such as paying bills and making reservations. If needed, they can even schedule doctor’s appointments or give reminders about medication.

Level 3: Autonomous Assistants

Autonomous assistants are an advanced level of virtual assistants.

The autonomous assistants are programmed to handle tasks for you on a daily basis. They are capable of performing some tasks for business purposes.

This includes letting them read emails, look for documents, and perform other tasks for you. They can also handle tasks that require a lot of research such as looking up and ordering a product online.

This level incorporates an artificial intelligence system that allows it to conduct autonomous tasks.

These autonomous AI-based virtual assistants are usually incorporated into a business plan to take over some tasks that traditionally require human interactions.

For one, they can optimize customer service. They can also automatize inventory management and social media management.

Final Thoughts

The world of virtual assistants is growing very fast. This technology is constantly evolving and becoming more advanced.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for this technology. There are many Virtual Assistants out there, with a plethora of different functions and features that you can actually choose from.

There are some Virtual Assistants that can be customized to your needs and wants and others that are very basic and lack the functionality that you would want.

It is important to take a look at how the VA works before signing up for one. Not all VA’s are equal in features and functions. Some may be more capable than others, depending on what they have been programmed to do.

You will need to do some research in order to find the one that is best for you, budget and needs and all.
