Automate Your Marketing with Zapier and Save Time (and Money!)

What Is Marketing Automation?

When people talk about marketing automation, they’re usually referring to one of two things:

1) Email Marketing

Email Marketing is the process of creating a “sales funnel” where you give your customers a series of free content (usually in the form of email marketing campaigns) that ultimately gets them to purchase your product.

Content Marketing is the process of creating valuable content that your customers want to read and share. By creating a series of blog posts, videos, infographics, etc. you can position yourself as an expert in your industry and ultimately get more potential customer to buy from you.

What Is Zapier?

Zapier is a web automation tool that allows you to connect the apps you use every day and automate repetitive tasks. For example, you can create a Zap that automatically adds new contacts from your Gmail account to your Salesforce account. You can also create Zaps that will send out an email newsletter every time you publish a new blog post.

Zapier allows you to create Zaps that are triggered by an event in one app and then send a trigger to another app. For example, let’s say you publish a new blog post on your website. You can set up a Zap that will automatically email your customers every time you publish a new blog post. Zapier is a great tool for automating your marketing because it allows you to save time and effort by automating tasks that would otherwise take a lot of time.

The problem with both of these strategies is that they take a lot of time and effort to execute properly. This is where Zapier comes in. Zapier allows you to automate all the steps in your marketing strategy so that when one thing happens, another thing happens automatically.

Step 1: Sign Up for Zapier and Create a New Zap

Sign up for Zapier here. You’ll get a free trial, but eventually you’ll have to pay $20/month for their services. When you sign up, you’ll get an email from them asking if you want them to recommend any Zaps for you. Click on the link in that email (or go here) and check out their recommended Zaps. Most of them are pretty cool, but we’re going to create our own from scratch. Once you’ve signed up for Zapier and created your account, go back to their website and click on the big blue “Make a Zap!” button in the top right corner.

Step 2: Choose Your Trigger App

The first thing you’ll need to do is choose which app will trigger your Zap. In this case, we’re going to use MailChimp. MailChimp is a great tool for sending email drip campaigns, and it’s also a great way to create an automated marketing system with Zapier. 

Step 3: Choose Your Action App

Now that you’ve chosen MailChimp as your trigger app, you’ll need to choose which app will be the action app. For this example, we’re going to use WordPress because we want our blog posts to automatically be added to our website after they’re created in MailChimp.

Step 4: Add Your Trigger and Action Steps

At this point, Zapier will automatically fill in the trigger and action steps for you. In most cases this is exactly what you want. If it’s not what you want, just click on one of the steps and change it accordingly.

Step 5: Name Your Zap & Save It

Now that everything is set up properly, you can name your Zap and save it. When you’re done, you’ll be able to see your Zap in the main dashboard of Zapier.

Step 6: Start Using Your Zap

Now that your Zap is created, you can start using it. Every time you create a new blog post in MailChimp, it will automatically be added to your WordPress website. This means that if you’re sending out a series of blog posts in MailChimp, your new blog posts will automatically be added to your website without any additional work on your part.

The automation could also share blog posts to your active users through email campaign based on their email address. This way, you could build an effective drip campaign to increase customer interactions as well as customer acquisition.

Zapier and its automation services really help small entrepreneurs and business owners to ensure a steady stream of email and contents are ready to be shared to active users.
